INTRODUCING,

TELEVISION LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN, IN WAYS NEVER SEEN BEFORE.

BOXLESS

MATTEO takes television out of its box. Reshapes, reforms and reprograms it. Producing art works unlike anything anyone has ever seen, heard or experienced.

What strikes me about Matteo’s work is its approachability. His ideas are sophisticated, emotionally nuanced, with challenging ideas and impressive craftsmanship. His forms combine the twin fantasies of science fiction with sensuality, and above all do not resemble traditional notions of what sculpture, video, or indeed any other work of art should look like. But they are based in experience and observation, they navigate the everyday surrealism found in the play of lights, the strains of a melody, the eyes of a watcher, the motions of a dancer, the patterns of industry—and so they are also familiar. In the end, they are absolutely surprising and compelling, with aspects to embrace and enjoy whether you are an academic, a critic, or an absolute beginner.  Shana Nys Dambrot, Art Editor LA WEEKLY

"THE WORKS ARE BRILLIANT"   "AN ARTIST TO WATCH"   "A RISING STAR"

I think the works are brilliant. When art can really GRAB you, you're focused on it and you're really trying to understand and relate to the artist, then its done what every artists wants and that is the attention of people. To relate to their own personal being as well as relate to the work. I think that these works represent all of that. It's 2008 and five years ago video art was just starting to come into its position in the art world. You see a lot of video art, this work actually, and for the first time, and what makes it so unique, is that you can actually BUY and enjoy video art in MATTEOs sculptural piece in your living room.  Jeff Marinelli - Publisher & Editor  ART and Living Magazine

"A ONE OF A KIND EXHIBIT"

The video constructs created by Los Angeles new media upstart Matteo could belong equally in gallery, home, museum or the wilder provinces of Burning Man. This crossover of cultural loci is achieved through his seamless implementation of beauty in form and cogent critique; all delivered with heavy dollop of pop sensibility. His tone is sexy and ironic, brutal though his analysis is often that of serious issues he is always funny, colorful and engaging. -Rex Bruce is the founder and director of Los Angeles Center for Digital Art lacda.com. "A MASTER OF NEW MEDIA"

--Alex Simon The Hollywood Interview

MATTEO's work is a unique way of experiencing new media fused with sculpture. His technology driven sculptures reference the mediated post-modern experience through the fusion of the physical and virtual. His work has an elegant and refined presence, while light and animated imagery reflect fragments of and references to the contemporary visual culture that shapes our social environment. -Dr. Catherine Amadon Art Historian, Curator...

ABOUT THE ARTIST

"ON THE CUTTING EDGE, ONE STEP AHEAD, MATTEO IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THOSE ARTISTS."

-James Grey Gallery, Bergimot Station, Santa Monica Ca.

From the schoolroom to the storefront, societal saturation with multi media in the 21st century  see us generally desensitized to the ingenuity and creativity that technology can offer. Matteo’s background in art direction sees an emphasis on artistic vision and creativity over  highlighting the wonders and intricacies of machinery. His wit and vision  offer pieces that are timeless, engaging and beautiful. -Craig Stephens Journalist/publicist/writer. Mr. Stephens is a freelance writer of  over 15 years. He has contributed to an assortment of international publications from Network World and Zdnet to Playboy, Malibu magazine, Dart International.
